FINAL DESIGNS ASS. 2

According to the comments given by the respondents of the test and during the VCD counseling meeting, the following improvements have been made and have led to the final designs, which are shown below:

For perspective:
  • the texture on the ground (texture gradient)
  • occlusion
  • perspective in buildings
For directing people in a certain direction:
  • the buildings face two different fronts
  • the cast shadows of the buildings
In general:
  • added more colour
  • simplified the buildings to prevent wrong attraction of attention
  • tried to keep it simple!
With the way the perspective is used is tried to create some kind of invitation idea sended out by the buildings. When you would walk the shopping route for example (counter clockwise, see the first image shown below) the first building that you meet is facing you right from the front. When walking clockwise in this map you would meet the first building from the side, which may be less inviting to walk to.

'Route P' The Shopping route

'Route K' The Culture route
